Some Thoughts Upon Watching THAT Dance Scene for the 3,875th Time
- When Matthew holds out his hand to ask Mary to dance, it is his right hand that he holds out first, the hand that goes around her back. THIS IS SIGNIFICANT. He wants her, he needs her, etc.
- “Oh God, Mary” only ever gets sexier and more filled with despair. NO IT DOES NOT MATTER THAT I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. The angst!
- The look Matthew gives Mary when she tells him it was her fault is just…..there are no words. In a scene full of amazing faces and facial expressions, it’s killer.
- And I can’t even TALK about “however much I might want to”!
- He just looks so young and full of pain when he leans in to kiss her….GAH…THE FEELINGS.
- This scene, it SLAYS me.
